The LGAHS presents an evening of jovial imbibing as we serve-up intoxicating stories about the history of liquor consumption (legal and illegal) in the La Grange area. From the time of its founding in the 1870’s (long before prohibition) no liquor could be made, sold or consumed in La Grange. “No Saloons” was #10 on a list of “Advantages offered by La Grange.” Join us, sip on an olde timey cocktail, and we’ll tell you all about it.

….What happened if you broke the rules?
….How did some folks work around them?
….Do you know which one of our neighboring towns was created as a result of them?

This event, back by popular demand, will be presented live by descendants of the Village Founders. Space is limited to 35 guests and will take place inside the Vial House museum. Drinks inspired by those popular in the 1870’s will be served along with light snacks. Guests will also have access to our current exhibit “Once Upon a Childhood”. Feeling lucky? Enter the 50/50 raffle for half the pot and historic prizes.
